HO-CHUNK HISTORY AT DOOR COUNTY TALKS

Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will offer a free Door County Talks presentation about the history of the Ho-Chunk Nation by William “Nąąwącekǧize” Quackenbush on March 12, 10 am.

He will explore the history of the Ho-Chunk people – who have called Door County and its surrounding region home for thousands of years – as relayed through oral history reaching as far back as the last glacial episode and beyond. Today they continue to reside within their ancestral homelands despite many attempts to forcibly remove them from the fledgling state of Wisconsin during the 1800s.

Advance registration is required to attend in person, and Door County Talks presentations are also livestreamed on DCA’s Facebook page.
