December is here, and property tax bills are arriving in mailboxes. Door County Treasurer Jay Zahn said his office will now collect for 16 of 19 municipalities, with the addition of the Town of Brussels this year. Residents of Clay Banks, Nasewaupee and Union will continue to remit property taxes to their local treasurers.
Zahn recommended that most payments be made by mail this year because the pandemic has caused limited access to the Government Center. Enclose a self-addressed, stamped envelope if you would like a receipt.In-person payments can be made inside the door of the 5th Avenue entrance, where a pay window has been added to the Treasurer’s Office. Associated Bank will not be collecting payments on the county’s behalf this year. Visit co.door.wi.gov/189/Treasurer to see additional payment options.
