Holiday Craft Show

Chris Steinhagen is one of several local artists who will demonstrate their skills at the upcoming Amish Quilt & Craft Show.

The 17th Annual Amish Quilt and Holiday Craft Show, sponsored by Jacksonport Craft Cottage Gifts, will be held at Mr. G’s Hall from Oct. 9 – 12, 9 am – 5 pm.

More than 100 traditional Amish quilts in a variety of styles, patterns and colors will be featured at this show. All are quilted by hand, as is the Amish custom.

Table displays will include a children’s table with books, crayon play aprons, wood toys, kitchen utensil aprons, play work tools and coloring books. The purse table will feature pocket purses, hand crafted purses, eyeglass cases and cloth book covers. There will be display tables of Halloween, fall, and Christmas décor.

Other items for sale include: pattern kits, cashew crunch, Yoder popcorn, Amish noodles, quilting books, recipe books, wall hangings, table runners, place mats, rugs, Amish dolls, baskets, pillows and quillows.

This year, a number of local artists will be on hand to demonstrate their special talents at the upcoming show. Handmade brooms will be created at the show by Chris Steinhagen and will be for sale. Glass painter June Grutza will demonstrate her fine art of glass painting most afternoons during the show, and Sandra L. Peterson will demonstrate painting techniques.

An entry fee of $1 will be charged at the door (children eight and under are free). There will be two $50 gift certificates for Jacksonport Craft Cottage Gifts or future Amish Quilt and Craft Shows. Winners need not be present to win.

The show is sponsored by Jacksonport Craft Cottage Gifts. For information call 920.823.2288 or visit JacksonportCraftCottage.com. Mr. G’s Hall is located on Highway 57 south of Jacksonport.
