Holiday Fantasies at the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Library

Diorama by Carol Wuollett-Pinkalla.

Dioramas created by Carol Wuollett-Pinkalla are on display at the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Library. These creations are inspired by Wuollett-Pinkalla’s childhood memories of the Christmas window displays at Marshall Field’s during the 1940s in Chicago.

Her dioramas combine collected and original artwork. Sculpting many of the dolls herself, Wuollett-Pinkalla also hand sewed or knit clothing, painted backgrounds and fabricated other items as needed. Visit the Sister Bay/Liberty Grove Library this holiday season and become enchanted with scenes of Santa’s Workshop, the Nutcracker, a Swedish house and a sleigh ride through the snow.

The library is located at 2323 Mill Road in downtown Sister Bay and is open 10 am-7 pm Monday; 1 – 7 pm Tuesday, 10 am – 5 pm Wednesday; 10 am – 4 pm Friday; and 10 am – 2 pm Saturday.
