Hometown Love at DCA Nov. 30

The Door Community Auditorium (DCA) will host an evening of giving thanks, hometown love and world-class talent Nov. 30 when Katie Dahl – accompanied by multi-instrumentalist Eric Lewis – will release a new album and Birds of Chicago will return to the stage with its new supergroup, Capitol Sun Rays, featuring Amy Helm, Grahame Lesh and Luther Dickinson.

Songwriter/singer Katie Dahl is beloved in Door County, but her renown is growing nationwide as a songwriter whose smart, poignant songs of place are, says Wisconsin Public Radio, “the real deal.” On Nov. 30, Dahl will release her new album, Wildwood, which was produced by Birds of Chicago’s JT Nero.

Birds of Chicago is a Washington Island-bred, Nashville-based musical collective that’s also been beloved in Door County since its early beginnings as JT and the Clouds. Capitol Sun Rays offers a joyful musical romp through rock, gospel and quintessential American soul.

Katie Dahl, Eric Lewis and Capitol Sun Rays will perform Nov. 30, 7 pm. Tickets range from $25 to $58. Advance reservations are recommended. Buy tickets in person at the DCA box office, 3926 Hwy 42 in Fish Creek; by phone at 920.868.2728; or online at dcauditorium.org.
