Hope Church Gallery Features Mary Blotti Anderson and Ruth Sandor

“Strutting Chickens” by Ruth Sandor.

Mary Blotti Anderson and Ruth Sandor will show their works at the Hope Church Gallery throughout October. Both artists are members of the Door County Art League (DCAL) and enjoy painting outdoors.

Sandor is a past president of DCAL and an active plein air painter. She has paintings in private collections and a line of cards, prints and originals.

“I draw from a range of sources: Haiku poetry to native flowers and insects. I try to suppress the urge to be too careful, which is hard for me to do. There is still much to learn. Watercolor will keep me occupied for a long time,” said Sandor.

Anderson paints with pastels, watercolor, oil and acrylics. The majority of her work can be seen at the Paint Box Gallery in North Ephraim where she has exhibited for the past nine years.

Hope Church Gallery, located at 141 South 12th Ave. in Sturgeon Bay, is open 9 am – 1 pm Monday through Friday and 9 am – 2 pm Sunday.
