Horsemanship Workshop and Presentation

Idlewild Farms is hosting a very special guest from the Northern Cheyenne Reservation to teach about the Medicine Wheel Model of Natural Horsemanship.

With Whiteman’s strong traditional upbringing and knowledge of his culture, he weaves the past with the present and shares messages of hope and encouragement.

The Medicine Wheel Model to Natural Horsemanship is a non-confrontational Native American approach to working with and training horses. This presentation shows and explains the spiritual connection between man and horse.

The two-day event begins at 8:30 am July15. The morning will cover the Medicine Wheel Model: The Foundation (round corral); Understanding the Medicine Wheel – Demonstrations of the Circle of Life; Four Colors; Four Stages of Life; Four Age-Appropriate Behaviors; and Four Seasons. In the afternoon, Phillip will hold a demonstration on his horse Sioux Boy. Tuesday at 6:30 pm he will have flute playing, songs and traditional storytelling. On Wednesday from 9 am – 4 pm, he will be working with a young, untrained colt.

The event including the evening performance is $55 for an advance ticket and $75 at the door. The Tuesday evening performance fee is $20 for adults, $10 for children, and $40 for families.
