Horseshoe Bay Farms Commissions Interactive Sculpture

Horseshoe Bay Farms opened its doors to the community in 2021, and after a successful inaugural season, it’s setting the bar high in 2022 by welcoming Patrick Dougherty to the property. He’s the award-winning, internationally known sculptor behind Stickwork: large, interactive creations made entirely of sticks.

During the past 30-plus years, Dougherty has built more than 300 works worldwide and all over the United States. As the winner of numerous awards, including the North Carolina Artist Fellowship Award, Pollock Krasner Foundation Grant, and Henry Moore Foundation Fellowship, Dougherty has made a tremendous impact on the art world and garnered a devoted following.

The sculpture project is set to launch in the beginning of June, will take about three weeks to complete and will last two to three years. Dougherty and his son are looking for volunteers to help with the installation. Contact Drew Richmond at [email protected] if you’re interested in helping.

Admission to Horseshoe Bay Farms (horseshoebayfarms.org) will be required to experience the sculpture.
