Housing Partnership Offers Affordable Home for Income-Qualified Purchaser

Door County Housing Partnership (DCHP), a nonprofit community land-trust organization whose mission is to bring affordable home-ownership opportunities to year-round residents of Door County, is making a new home at 736 Galley Dr. in Sturgeon Bay available for purchase.

Community residents Michael and Kathryn Martell financed the home, and Countrywide Construction & Design of Forestville built it. The approximately 1,200-square-foot home has three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a two-car garage.

It will be available to an income-qualified purchaser at a predetermined price of approximately $130,000. Purchasers must be, or plan to be, year-round residents of Door County. Through a land-lease arrangement, the homeowner will purchase the home, and DCHP will retain ownership of the land, ensuring that it will be available to income-qualified, year-round residents for the life of the home.
