How Will You Age in Door County?

Survey and forums start the conversation on this all-important question

St. Norbert Strategic Research Institute and Do Good Door County have partnered on an age-in-place initiative that’s designed to increase the quality of life for Door County residents for years to come. It will begin with a survey and continue with forums held all over the county to discuss the findings.

Do Good Door County (DGDC) is a member of Active Seniors Options, a nonprofit dedicated to enhancing successful aging through its collaborative efforts in education, training, research and community service. Founded in 2021 and based in Sturgeon Bay, DGDC seeks to enrich and enhance the aging experience for all in the county, and according to Cynthia Germain, Do Good Door County’s founder, CEO and board president, the survey will help to achieve that.

“The vision of Do Good Door County is to empower the connections in our community in order to support a welcoming, safe and accessible culture,” Germain said. “This survey will help us start making life in Door County better for all residents.”

Information obtained through the survey will be used to identify and positively address the needs of residents throughout the peninsula, so DGDC wants to hear from as many residents as possible before the survey ends Oct. 25.

Forums held around the county to talk about the survey results and plan together for the future will begin Nov. 8, and each location will offer two sessions.
