Husby’s Holds Annual Ice Fishing Tournament and Party

Grab your tip-ups and portable shanties, Husby’s Food & Spirits in Sister Bay is holding it’s third annual Ice Fishing Tournament. Fishermen are invited to brave the elements and try their luck in the public waters of Door and Kewaunee Counties from 4 am on Feb. 28, until final weigh in at 2 pm on March 2. Celebrate the tournament with a Mardi Gras themed ice fishing party at 12 pm on March 3.

Cash prizes will go to the fishermen who bring in the three heaviest fish in these categories: Walleye, Perch, Whitefish, Brown Trout and Northern Pike. The entry fee is $20 per person, and must be purchased before the start of the tournament. Each entrant will receive a raffle ticket for prizes ranging from fishing gear to free hotel stays.

The Nicks will entertain inside Husby’s on March 2, 10 pm until closing time.

On March 3 the tournament closes with a live crawfish boil with a bucket of crawfish, potatoes and corn. This ice fishing party will feature beads, beverages and music. Also, partygoers can warm up with a hurricane, Bloody Mary or a hot beverage in the heated tent.

Also on March 3, Husby’s will host Ice Golf on the ice from 11 am – 7 pm.

Tournament entry tickets are available at Husby’s Food & Spirits in Sister Bay, or at the Greystone Castle in Sturgeon Bay. For more information, call James Larsen at 920.737.7838.
