The community is invited to the second of the Zion United Methodist Church’s two annual hymn sings Sept. 1, 5 pm, at the church, 8781 Cty F in Fish Creek.
Begun in 1993 at the little country church that’s now 144 years old, the evening features old-time hymns chosen by the audience. Rev. Don Heeringa, a former Zion pastor, will serve as song leader, accompanied by Joan Vahey. Refreshments will be served.
A free-will offering will benefit HELP of Door County, an agency that has been working to eliminate domestic abuse and advocate for social change for the past 40 years. Since 2002, Zion’s Hymn Sings have raised about $37,000 for agencies that benefit Door County residents.
