I ate for $8.88 at The Rusty Tractor Café

The Rusty Tractor Café, serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner with the motto, “Where country pokes and city folks can wet their whistle, fill their middle and leave there feeling fit as a fiddle.”

There’s a whole lot available at the Rusty Tractor for $8.88, but some favorites are the international scramblers for breakfast. #1 consists of three eggs scrambled with mushrooms, onions, green peppers, and cheddar cheese piled on a haystack of hashbrowns for $6.95, add a bottomless cup of hot coffee for $1.25 and the meal comes to only $8.65 with tax.

“We were looking for a hearty breakfast. The Rusty Tractor served us a good cup of coffee and meaty bacon along with two thick slabs of French toast for myself, and a big egg scramble with cheese, ham and toast for my husband, all for less than $15,” Martha Beller, Member Liaison at the Door County Visitor Bureau, said.

For lunch, The Hen House goes for $6.25, a sandwich filled with their signature chicken salad with Door County cherries, tomato and lettuce, served on your choice of bread with a pickle spear and choice of potato chips, potato salad, or coleslaw. Add a small, refreshing raspberry lemonade for $1.45 and your total, with tax, comes to $8.12.

The café offers an additional, amended lunch menu from 11:30 – close. For dinner, try a 7” personal size, flatbread pizza with prices ranging from $4.50 to $7.50.
