Ice Carvers Needed for 2020 Fire and Ice Fest

Express your creativity in a unique medium – ice! Challenge yourself during Destination Sturgeon Bay’s Fire and Ice event on Feb. 15 and carve an ice sculpture. Destination Sturgeon Bay is seeking beginner, intermediate and advanced ice carvers for the 2020 ice carving competition, 9 am – 2 pm.

Individuals and teams of all ages and skill levels are encouraged to participate. Ice carvers will compete for cash prizes ranging from $10 to $150. Participating carvers will receive a goodie bag filled with an assortment of items to use throughout the day. Carvers may begin carving at 9 am. A panel of volunteers will judge all ice carvings beginning at 2 pm. The awards ceremony begins at 3 pm in the Destination Sturgeon Bay Welcome Center.

There is no cost to participate and carving experience is not necessary for beginner level. All carving levels may use power tools. Basic power tools, such as hair dryers, heat guns, or drills may be used. Anyone younger than 18 years must have parental supervision to participate. Hand carving tools are available for use from Destination Sturgeon Bay for a $10 refundable deposit.
