Icon Exhibit In Sister Bay

An exhibit of more than 40 icons painted by Robert Appel will be held Sept. 2-4, 10 am – 4 pm, at Coventry Care, 10547 Koessl Lane in Sister Bay. He paints icons in the Greek style – a traditional style that goes back at least 15 centuries – and he will demonstrate these techniques during the exhibit. 

After a 30-year teaching career, Appel began painting icons in 1998. His work hangs in the Church of the Nativity in Jacksonport and in St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Sister Bay. Some of the exhibited icons will be available for purchase.
