Icy Roads Causing Delays Monday Morning

Schools in Door County are delayed Monday morning due to icy road conditions. Sevastopol, Sturgeon Bay, Southern Door and Gibraltar all have two-hour delays.

Crews were out late Sunday night applying salt to state highways and high-volume county roads, but those continue to have icy spots. Crews went back out at 4:15 am to apply salt to roadways, but Kolodziej said progress has been slow, and trucks have had to put on tire chains to ensure good traction.

Road conditions are expected to improve later in the morning as temperatures rise.
