Idea Gallery Debuts Work of New Artists

Idea Gallery, a gallery of contemporary art, invites the public to the debut of three new artists with the Exhibit 2 opening reception on July 7, 4-7 pm. The featured artists will be in attendance. Refreshments are served in the sculpture garden accompanied by Stephen Lavell playing acoustic guitar.

Kelly Davies works from his studio in Minnesota creating free-flowing sculptures that define quality. He typically fabricates his creations in either stainless steel or aluminum. Davies’ unique works commonly explore universal energy patterns and natural motion. His work is in private and corporate locations throughout North America and Europe.

Ceramic sculptor Olivia Tani will unveil a new body of work, the culmination of a fellowship/residency at the Northern Clay Center in Minnesota. Tani said of her new body of work, “Formal exploration drives my practice. I generate objects that are formally diverse and inventive but speak with a coherent style and vocabulary of planes, angles, volume and compositional balance.”

Rina Yoon is Professor of Art at the Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design where she has been teaching printmaking since 1999. During the last 20 years, Yoon has focused on non-traditional printmaking methods. Yoon’s work has been exhibited nationally and internationally including Korea, Poland, Germany and Italy.

Idea Gallery showcases distinctive artwork in all mediums by 37 artists from across the nation. The gallery, located at 6551 Cty T in Egg Harbor (West Jacksonport), is open 11 am – 5 pm daily from May through Nov. 9.
