Inaugural “Art in the Garden” at Briggsville Gardens

Karen Lee DeNoto and Richard Briggs walk through Briggsville Gardens.

On Sept. 21, 1 – 5 pm, the public is invited to attend “Art in the Garden: Sharing Summer’s Artistic Bounty,” the first of what is to be an annual art show and garden event, originally conceived by Door County artist Karen Lee DeNoto.

DeNoto is a native New Englander who has made Door County, her home. DeNoto says, “A passion is a gift that demands you to embrace it if you are to find your authenticity and inner joy/peace. Door County fuels that passion with its natural beauty. The creativity and synergistic energy on the peninsula is seductive and inspiring.”

Richard and Tammy Briggs of Briggsville Gardens, the Orchid Inn and the Door County Wedding Garden will host the event. The work of 10 professional Door County artists (DeNoto, Cal Bonniver, Malin Ekman, Andrea Kinsey Jauquet, Cathy Meader, Cheryl Stidwell Parker, Randy Rasmusson, Cinnamon Rossman, Kathy Stanaszek and Nancy Sargent) will be shown, and the artists will be on hand to discuss their work.

Anyone who is a fan of any of the artists, flowers, landscaping, landscape art, or anyone curious about the Door County wedding garden should mark their calendars and plan to attend the event, which happens rain or shine. Briggsville Gardens is located at 3273 Mathey Road, Sturgeon Bay, about a mile from Crossroads at Big Creek.
