Independent Filmmaker to Shoot in Baileys Harbor

Rebecca Livengood and Chris Irwin

Rebecca Livengood and Chris Irwin are set to begin shooting a feature length movie in Door County in May. The two recently collaborated on the short film Winter Guest, which was shot in Baileys Harbor and premiered at the Door County Short Film Festival in February. Livengood is the writer and director of the upcoming feature and will also play the lead role. Irwin is producing and assistant directing.

The movie, titled June Falling Down, is a subtle drama/comedy about a young woman returning home to Door County for the wedding of her best friend, which also coincides with the one year anniversary of her father’s death.

The cast also includes local performers, such as musician Nick Hoover; Steven Koehler of American Folklore Theatre; Claire Morkin of Third Avenue Playhouse; and Justin Pahnturat, a chef and musician.

Livengood and Irwin are currently running a fundraiser for June Falling Down through the crowdfunding website Indiegogo (Indiegogo.com). Prizes are available for different levels of donation, including DVDs, signed posters, portrait paintings, and even an airplane ride with Chris Irwin.

For donations at the $100 level, the donor receives two tickets to the premiere of the movie in Door County in the summer of 2015, which includes a showing of the film as well as live music by Chris Irwin and friends afterward.

The fundraiser is running now through May 4. For more information visit Indiegogo.com and search for “June Falling Down” or visit SilverLeafProductions.wordpress.com.
