Inspired by the Peninsula

“Shoregrass” by Ginnie Cappaert.

Ginnie Cappaert of Cappaert Contemporary Gallery is excited to be living and working in Egg Harbor and has seen a slight shift in her abstracted landscape minimalist paintings mostly because of the amazing sunset/water views from her studio/gallery in Egg Harbor.

Cappaert made the transition this spring from her spacious Michigan studio to her new “summer” studio, which is smaller, but very inspiring. Her gallery, the former Dovetail Gallery, is a beautiful historic log home/gallery with a detached studio in the back gardens. Although Cappaert is busy running the gallery during the day hours, she finds early mornings and evenings a peaceful time to work in her studio.

Her paintings are landscape-based, but with a minimalist feel. As she works, she enjoys the beautiful views outside her studio windows and takes that landscape and transforms it into a serene painting. She invites collectors to visit her studio where she can explain her inspiration and visitors can see works in progress.

Cappaert Contemporary Gallery is located at 7901 Hwy. 42 in Egg Harbor and features the art of 30 regional and national artists working in painting, clay, sculpture, mixed media and jewelry. The gallery is open daily at 10 am through October. For more information call 920.868.3987 or find the gallery on Facebook.
