Interfibers of Door County Presents Geode Jewelry

Wendy Carpenter will host a Geode Jewelry Art Opening on June 25 from 3 – 8 pm at her gallery, Interfibers Design Gallery, celebrating 30 years, in Fish Creek.

Carpenter creates spacious 3-D mix-media woven wall sculptures incorporating various natural found objects and materials such as hand-made paper, leather, wood and metal.

About eight years ago, Carpenter started working with gemstones (jade and quartz in particular) and last spring was fortunate enough to find geodes in her back yard. A geode is a partly hollow ball filled mostly with quartz crystals or agate. After many hours of slicing, cutting, forming and polishing geodes, she has created an amazing display of Door County geode necklaces, earrings, pendants and belt buckles.
