“Intriguing History of Bj?rklunden” Program at Maxwelton Braes

Boynton Chapel

The Door County Historical Society will host its monthly dinner and program meeting on July 27 at 6 pm at Maxwelton Braes with catering by Pasta Vino. The program, titled “Intriguing History of Bj?rklunden,” will be presented by Bj?rklunden director Mark Breseman and features a tour of Boynton Chapel.

Bj?rklunden is a place of great beauty and serenity; the property includes meadows, woods, and more than a mile of unspoiled waterfront. Donor Winifred Boynton captured the enduring spirit of Bj?rklunden when she said of her beloved summer home: “Far removed from confusion and aggression, it offers a sanctuary for all.” This evening’s program will take a pictorial journey through time looking at all that has been going on at Bj?rklunden from the late 1920s to the present day.

Program guests are invited to visit the Boynton Chapel prior to dinner, between 4:30 – 5:15 pm. Guests will enjoy a first course of Classic Caesar Salad; a dinner choice between Chicken Alfredo, Spaghetti and Meatballs, Cheese Ravioli or Mushroom Ravioli with Alfredo Sauce; Sorbet of the Day, and coffee. The member dinner cost is $20 and the guest fee is $24. Guests may attend the presentation only for a $6 fee. Reservations are due by July 20, with payment sent to Door County Historical Society, PO Box 71, Sturgeon Bay. For more information call 920.421.2332.
