Introducing LuLit

Door County writer and up-and-coming artist Sally Slattery introduces LuLit (short for Luminating Literature) a collection of mix-media pieces. Using Mason jars of all shapes and sizes, book pages, vintage postcards, old photographs, and magazine clippings, Slattery creates collages that come to life with the light of the candle.

“LuLit essentially celebrates the written word – one of my favorite art forms,” says Slattery. “The words and poems light up, complemented with old photographs and paintings. I strive to show off the timelessness and beauty of these old poems and phrases we might miss when we skim through anthologies or poetry books.”

Affordable and adorable, the jars are also versatile – perfect for storing treasured items like jewelry or mementos, or everyday items like cotton balls or candy.

Slattery is showcasing her first line of LuLit jars at Angela Lensch Gallery, located at 7653 Highway 42 in Egg Harbor. For more information visit angelalensch.com.

LuLit will also make an appearance at the Baileys Harbor Farmers Market on May 25 from 9 am – 1 pm on the lawn in front of the Baileys Harbor Town Hall. The booth will also feature Door County photography by Luke Collins of Sturgeon Bay.
