On June 19 at 2:45 pm, campers from Camp Invention will showcase their innovative creations during an Inventor’s Showcase in the Southern Door Elementary/Middle School cafeteria. Families, friends, businesses and community members are encouraged to attend. In this second year of sponsoring the camp, the number of campers has almost doubled to 80, including 11 middle and high school counselors in training or leadership interns. Campers come from all over Brown, Kewaunee and Door Counties.
Local donors make attending Camp Invention a reality for many of the campers through partial or full scholarship help. This year a total of $3,940 in scholarship help was received from TTX, The Women’s Fund of Door County, Marine Travelift, The Southern Door Education Foundation and private donors.
