iPad Painting Demonstration and Gallery Talk at PSA

“Plein Air,” iPad painting by Susan Murtaugh

On Nov. 19 the featured artists of the exhibition “30 Paintings / 30 Days” at Peninsula School of Art (PSA) in Fish Creek will share their processes and experiences as they relate to the exhibition with an iPad painting demonstration and gallery talk. Each participating artist agreed to paint one painting a day for 30 consecutive days, in the time frame of their choosing.

Beginning at 1 pm, Susan Murtaugh of Two Creeks will create her 30th and final iPad painting for exhibit in the school’s gallery. Utilizing the iPad art application, SketchBook Pro, the artist will connect her iPad to a large screen TV monitor for the public to view her at work. Murtaugh’s series of still life paintings for the exhibition are displayed in the form of archival prints. She is an internationally recognized iPad artist and serves as a consultant for art software for companies such as Apple.

At 3 pm, six of the seven featured artists, including Murtaugh, Fred Bell, Bonnita Budysz, Shelby Keefe, Jason Prigge and Kristi Roenning, will engage in a gallery talk to share their experiences during the 30-day project. Their experiences ranged from emotional insights to a new artistic direction.

Refreshments will be served. The exhibition, demonstration and talk are free and open to the public.

PSA, open Monday through Saturday from 9 am – 5 pm, is located at 3900 County Road F in Fish Creek. For more information about this event and other PSA workshops, exhibitions, and community programs call 920.868.3455 or email [email protected].
