IPPY Award Winners

Two Wisconsin Historical Society Press books have earned gold medals in the 2019 Independent Publisher Book Awards – the IPPY Awards.

Somos Latinas, a collection of oral histories documenting the lives and work of Wisconsin Latina activists, by Andreas-Teresa Arenas and Eloisa Gomez, won in the Women’s Issues category. How to Make a Life: A Tibetan Refugee Family and the Midwestern Woman They Adopted, by Madeline Uraneck, won in the Multicultural Nonfiction category.

The IPPY Awards recognize independent publishers and authors worldwide, showcasing some of the best among the nearly one million books published each year. A panel of publishing-industry experts judges them on the quality of content, originality, design and production.
