Isadoora Announces Cast

Isadoora Theatre Company announces the cast for its upcoming musical production of Working written by Stephen Schwartz and Nina Faso and based on the book of the same name by Studs Terkel with music by Schwartz, James Taylor, Mary Rodgers, Micki Grant, and Craig Carnelia. Working, directed by Amy Shaw, will be presented at Door Community Auditorium, Fish Creek, Feb.14 – 17 and 21 – 24.

Working, the musical, chronicles a day in the life of twenty-six average American workers. Characters include an ironworker, a waitress, a stone mason, a trucker, a housewife, a UPS delivery man, a teacher, and a retiree. All of their monologues, in which they describe their daily routines and discuss their hopes and aspirations, are true stories derived from interviews by Studs Terkel with actual workers. While there is neither a unified plot nor a narrative thread carrying the action foreword, each scene makes a smooth transition into the next, with each character’s speech related in content to what precedes and follows it.

The cast, all Door County community members, is announced as:  Andy Hall, Hervy Hodges, Mark Moede, Jeffrey Berger, Holly Feldman, Katie Henz, Ginger Auld, Ed Di Maio, Ann Birnschein, Gwen Severson, Beth Faught, Chris Milton, Mary Hall, and Karen Newbern. The orchestra includes: Craig McClelland, bass; Craig Konowalski, guitar; Bruce Newbern, percussion; and Janet Osterburg, piano.

The show is directed by Amy Shaw with musical direction by Mary Hall. Lynn Berger is the Assistant Director and Stage Manager and Melanie Croke is the props mistress. Kurt Thomas and Pete Evans, both of the Door Community Auditorium, are providing technical design and direction.

Isadoora Theatre Company, in its sixth season, produces three thought provoking shows, provides theatre and audition workshops, and provides opportunities for hundreds of amateur actors to experience the joy of theatre each year.
