Isadoora Theatre Announces an ‘Award-Winning Season’

Isadoora Theatre Company is proud to announce an ‘Award-Winning’ slate of theatrical productions for Door County’s off-season. Each show in Isadoora’s seventh season has been the recipient of critical and popular accolades as well as a variety of industry awards.

The season begins with Warren Leight’s Tony Award-winning Side Man, followed by the Tony-nominated and Drama Desk Award-winning She Loves Me by Joe Masteroff, Sheldon Harnick, and Jerry Bock. The season’s final show is Margaret Edson’s Pulitzer Prize winning production, Wit.

Rehearsals are already underway for Isadoora’s season opener, Side Man. Renee Kujawski has taken on the director’s duties, leading a cast of seasoned Isadoora performers along with some newcomers.

Set in 1953, Leight’s poignant memory play unfolds through the eyes of Clifford, the only son of jazz trumpeter Gene and his alcoholic wife Terry. Alternating between their New York City apartment and a smoke filled music club, Clifford narrates the story of his broken family and the decline of jazz as popular entertainment.

Side Man will be performed November 13 – 16 and 20 – 23 at the Sturgeon Bay High School Auditorium, located at 1230 Michigan Street, Sturgeon Bay. Thursday through Saturday shows are at 7:30 pm. Sunday matinees are at 2 pm. Tickets are available for $12 by calling the Isadoora box office at 920.493.3667.
