Island Literary Fest Features 5 Women Authors

Five acclaimed women authors will headline the Washington Island Literary Festival Sept. 21-23. Write On, Door County has announced this year’s lineup: fiction writers Amy Quan Barry, Lan Samantha Chang and Shelby Van Pelt; poet Brenda Cárdenas; and nonfiction writer Meghan O’Gieblyn. This year’s theme is Space for the Unexpected.

The festival will feature writers’ workshops, author panels and presentations, readings and social activities at various quaint, historical and beautiful venues around the island. Participants will have a rare opportunity to share time with prominent authors and dedicated readers in the intimate, friendly setting of Washington Island – a half hour by ferry from the Door County mainland – during September’s color and warmth.
