It’s a Grand Night for Singing

Pamela Williams and Desirée Hassler

Three accomplished singers from Chicago Lyric Opera will perform at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church over Memorial Day weekend. Soprano Desirée Hassler, mezzo-soprano Pamela Williams and baritone Ricardo Sepúlveda will join pianist Judy Jackson to present “It’s a Grand Night for Singing.”

The evening features the works of Handel, Schubert, Mozart, Dvorak, Duparc and Sibelius, as well as American musical theater selections from South Pacific and The Man of La Mancha.

This performance is scheduled for May 26 at 7 pm. Shepherd of the Bay has a tradition of not charging admission for its special musical events, but there will be a freewill offering since the singers travel to Door County at their own expense. A reception to meet and speak with the singers will be held after the concert.

On May 27 at 8:30 am, Chicago Lyric Opera singers will join their voices with those of the Shepherd of the Bay Kleine Chor (Little Choir), organist Naomi Rowley and pianist Judy Jackson as they present Johann Sebastian Bach’s Cantata BWV 39 during the morning worship service.

Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran church is located on Highway 42 in Ellison Bay. For more information, call 920.839.2444.
