Jack-O-Lantern Days Puts the ‘Eeek!’ in Fish Creek

A hometown Halloween celebration is in store for Fish Creek’s annual Jack-O-Lantern Days, Oct. 25 – 28. The weekend includes mask making for kids, pumpkin carvings, a Halloween parade, trick-or-treating, and costume parties for kids and adults.

Kids can jumpstart the weekend on Thursday with the Halloween Hoedown at the Northern Door YMCA from 4 – 7 pm. Also on Thursday, adults can carve pumpkins at Bayside Tavern, starting at 9 pm.

Hands on Art Studio will host their second annual Jack O’ Lantern Blaze on Oct. 26 and 27. This free pumpkin-carving event for kids and adults ends the 27th with a lighting ceremony at 5:30 pm.

Also on Saturday, kids can create masks at the Peninsula School of Art, free of charge, from 9 am – 12 pm; families can stop by the Old Town Hall from 1 – 5 pm for a goodie bag and a Kid’s Halloween Celebration; business will be stocked with candy for town-wide trick or treating, 3 – 5 pm; and the Gibraltar Fire Station is holding an open house, 10 am – 2 pm.

All those in costume are welcome to participate in the Haunting Halloween Parade down Main Street. Floats, cars, walkers, adults, kids, and pets are encouraged to participate. The Parade begins at 3 pm; parade lineup is at 2:30 pm outside Fish Creek’s Information Center/ Post Office.

Adult activities for the weekend include Bayside Tavern’s infamous Costume Party and Contest on Saturday at 9 pm.
