Jackson Browne’s Door County Performance Raises $7,000

Door County’s Holiday Motel in Sturgeon Bay hosted Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Jackson Browne in an exceptionally intimate live concert. The event raised nearly $7,000 to benefit local music programs and events.

Browne played an incredible four-hour show for the lucky 52 ticketholders in attendance, including a number of songs with long-time friend and collaborator pat mAcdonald, and drummer Wally Ingram, with whom both Browne and mAcdonald have played over the years (Ingram is a former member of mAcdonald’s Grammy-nominated band Timbuk 3 and has drummed for Browne in the past).

The event included a cocktail party and photography opening, debuting a collection entitled “Fragments” by Kasey J. Hembel, Sturgeon Bay native. Now on display and for sale at the Holiday Motel, the exhibit features black and white photographs of retro motel signs and more from Hembel’s trip along historic Route 66. “Fragments” makes a beautifully appropriate addition to the Holiday’s already unique vintage aesthetic.

After the show, Browne joined his fans for coffee and dessert, generously posing for photos and signing autographs.
