Plans are well underway for the upcoming season of the Jacksonport Farmers Market, sponsored by the Jacksonport Area Business Association. The market begins June 14 at Lakeside Park and will be held every Tuesday from 9 am to 1 pm through October, as weather permits. There are nearly 30 booths registered to participate this season, hosting a nice variety of fresh farm produce, flowers, plants, home-baked goods and handcrafted items by local Door County growers, artists and craftsmen.
Food will be provided by Mr. G’s; owners Mary and Bob Geitner look forward to their second year at the market. Chives Restaurant, owned by J.R. Schoenfeld, will bring a new food truck and will feature homemade soups and locally sourced salads. Menu items may vary from week to week but will be a nice feature at the market.
Entertainment is scheduled to take place on most market days, weather permitting. Marybeth Mattson will play on many Tuesdays in June, July, August and September. Jerry Voelker will play July 5 and Aug. 16 and Birch Creek musicians will play July 19 & 26 and Aug 2 & 9.
