Jacksonport Historical Society Hosts Presentation on Hein Family

Join the Jacksonport Historical Society on June 22 at 7 pm at the Jacksonport Town Hall for a presentation by Marilyn (Hein) Jome titled “The Hein Family – Deep Roots in Door County.” Jome, daughter of Stanley and Marie (Erskine) Hein, grew up in Sturgeon Bay. She was invited to go on a hike on the Door County Land Trust property known as Heins Creek and was excited to go and see where her great-grandparents, William and Wilhelmina Hein, grandparents Charles and Mathilda Hein, and her father, Stanley, had lived. This inspired her to begin a fascinating research project. Through researching newspaper articles from the late 1800s and early 1900s the Hein family story came to life.

The program is free and open to the public. Donations are welcome. Refreshments will be served following the presentation. Jacksonport Town Hall is located at Cty. V in Jacksonport.
