Jacksonport’s Cherry Fest Needs Volunteers

The Jacksonport Historical Society (JHS) is looking for volunteers as it prepares for its 23rd annual fundraising event during Cherry Fest, Aug. 5 in Lakeside Park and the Erskine Rest Area on Hwy. 57. Although there are volunteers who return each year to help, there is always room for more people to cooperate in the various activities, from setting up the day before and cleaning up afterwards, to serving kolaches, cherry pies and cherry sundaes or selling cherry jams and pie fillings throughout the day.

Beverly Ozburn, coordinator of volunteers, points out that “most volunteers sign on for a two-hour stint,” so dozens of people are involved.

Proceeds go to the JHS museum development fund. To help with set up or clean up, contact Gary Rezeau at 321.543.4887 or [email protected]. For general information on volunteer opportunities or to schedule hours, contact Ozburn at 920.823.2653 or [email protected].
