Jan Comstock’s Work Juried into Multiple Exhibits

“Free at Last” by Jan Comstock.

Artwork by Door County artist Jan Comstock, titled “Free At Last,” was selected for inclusion in Oil Painters of America’s (OPA) Summer Salon hosted by the Crooked Tree Arts Center in Petoskey, Michigan.

The juried exhibit will run through August 31, and will display 370 representational oil paintings selected from entries from the United States, Canada and Mexico. According to OPA, “Our goal was to assemble the finest display of representational oil paintings. The focus in the jurying process was to select paintings that showed the highest quality in draftsmanship, color and composition, emphasizing a diversity in representational style and subject matter.”

Two additional pieces of artwork by Comstock were also accepted into the Annual Culture & Agriculture Exhibit at the New Visions Gallery in the Marshfield Clinic in Marshfield, Wis. The exhibit runs July 7 – Aug. 30. For more information visit newvisionsgallery.org.
