January Reception at Community Foundation Gallery

The community is invited to attend a reception Jan. 20, 4:30 – 6 pm at the Door County Community Foundation. The reception celebrates the Lobby Gallery Winter Exhibition featuring works by Michael Nitsch and Bonnie de Arteaga.

“My gathering of the prints for this exhibit covers 20-plus years of plein air sketches of my travels through Wisconsin,” said Michael Nitsch. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree and works in many different mediums including intagilo, acid and non-acid printmaking methods, relief printmaking and mixed media.

After a career in graphic arts and public relations, Bonnie de Arteaga returned to hand printmaking in 1999. Her work has appeared in national and international exhibitions, and has been acquired for the permanent collections of Bellin Health, Green Bay; St Norbert College, De Pere; and Northwestern Mutual, Milwaukee. She creates mixed media prints, sculptures and encaustic paintings.

Refreshments will be served at the reception by Morag Hornsby and her team at Serves You Right Catering. The Community Foundation is located at 342 Louisiana Street in Sturgeon Bay, across the street from the post office.
