JCC Features Dichroic Glass Jewelry

Featured this Valentine’s Day season at Jacksonport Craft Cottage is dichroic glass jewelry handcrafted by Julie Bigger. Bigger creates pieces of dichroic glass jewelry by using a laser etching technique.

Bigger’s etching machine allows her to etch any graphic design onto the glass before she fuses it. She also grinds the glass to shape, and then fire polishes each piece for strength, shine and durability. After the glass is finished, Bigger creates pendants and earrings.

The Craft Cottage features Bigger’s “Love Hearts” design. The pendant is red with silver accents and heart-shaped. This style, in limited numbers, has matching earrings. These jewelry pieces are available at a 20 percent discount through February.

The Jacksonport Craft Cottage, located on Highway 57, is open Friday through Sunday 9 am – 5 pm, and sometimes by appointment by calling 920.823.2288.
