Local favorites Jeanne Kuhns, Ben Larsen and Dan Mayhew return to Third Avenue Playhouse on Saturday, March 15 for an evening of musical entertainment that is guaranteed to be exuberant, energetic and just plain fun! One performance is scheduled at 7:30 pm.
Jeanne Kuhns third CD, Ghost Ranch, will be released this summer. Recorded at Allemande Studio in Sister Bay, the CD features new songs about the earth, love, the trials and triumphs of young people and the joy of creating music and art. Kuhns frequently performs at the Town Hall Bakery and enjoys collaborating with a variety of amazing musicians from all over the country. Her versatile style ranges from bluegrass and country/pop to original folk/rock. In spring of 2007, she was a guest singer at the Weidner Center, opening for the Nylons.
Dan Mayhew is known throughout the county as an accomplished singer/songwriter and a fine guitarist. Mayhew worked in the music business in Nashville for years, connecting up-and-coming artists with record companies. He writes songs that reach into your heart and songs that make you laugh so hard you’ll cry. Described by his peers as a consummate professional, he has shared the stage with many big name acts.
Also well known to music lovers in Door County is Ben Larsen. Larsen is a member of the popular group, Michael Raye & the Werks. He frequently appears with Kuhns, Mayhew and other local musicians. He also performs solo, playing guitar and congas with equal skill and enthusiasm.
