Jerry Kobishop Creating John Denver Remembered

Local country singer/songwriter Jerry Kobishop hopes to carry on the original sounds and humanitarian efforts of his favorite singer and songwriter, John Denver, with his first return to the stage since 1996.

Kobishop is producing and plans to present John Denver Remembered to mark 25 years since an Oct. 12, 1997, plane crash took Denver’s life. As an ASCAP-licensed songwriter and music publisher, Kobishop has received the consent of Denver’s publisher, Kobalt Music, to use Denver’s original sound in a live concert.

Kobishop and his wife, Sheryl, recently visited Denver and Aspen, Colorado, to gather pictures of John Denver’s memorabilia and scenes that he sang about for the show. The video production will also include other places of natural beauty, including Door County.
