Jewelry for a Good Cause

For the second year in a row Patricia Shoppe of Egg Harbor has commissioned a piece of jewelry commemorating Door County nature and raising funds for local organizations. In 2014, international jewelry artist Sophia Forero designed a necklace to benefit Write On, Door County. This year, The Ridges Sanctuary has been selected as the beneficiary.

The Hine’s Emerald Dragonfly is the inspiration in this exclusive limited edition necklace, created by Sophia Forero Designs of Naperville, Illinois. Forero and her husband handcraft the pendant by carving out of wax, casting into fine silver, and finishing with Afghani turquois, lapis, emeralds and pearl. A matching earring is also available. Twenty percent of the necklace and earring sales will benefit The Ridges Sanctuary.

The necklace retails for $160 and the earrings for $70. It will be available for special order exclusively at Patricia Shoppe or at the Nature Center store at The Ridges, May through September 2015.

Patricia Shoppe is located in Egg Harbor’s original Town Hall building on Highway 42. The Patricia Shoppe is open every day, April through December and winter weekends.
