Jewelry Inspired by Our Shores

Cappaert Contemporary Gallery is featuring the artful jewelry collection by Wisconsin artist, Grace Hogan. The gallery features the jewelry of ten different jewelry artists but Hogan’s pieces are especially appealing to owner, Ginnie Cappaert as they are inspired by the beautiful lands and waters that surround us.

The natural phenomena of the earth are the intriguing, tiny objects found when Hogan gazes down. Her fascination with the ground and the things we all stomp over in everyday lives has extended into her work. She created a new realm for these objects in order to transform society’s generalization of them into precious and obvious matter. The lakes and its shores has become her inspiration and working environment. “To me, the geological formation and deformation of the land and lake can be the smallest stone I discover among a million grains of sand or the push of the water along the shoreline.”

Cappaert Contemporary Gallery is located at 7901 Highway 42 in Egg Harbor. Hours are 10 am – 5 pm daily through October. For more information visit cappaertcontemporary.com.
