Jewelry Trunk Shows at Greco Gallery

Necklace by Samantha DeSanctis.

Greco Gallery is hosting trunk shows for two local jewelry artists, Samantha DeSanctis and Angela Lensch, this holiday season.

DeSanctis (formerly Kerwin) will show her line, The Buttoneer Jewelry, on Dec. 12 & 13, with an open house on the 12th from 5 – 8 pm. The Sturgeon Bay native has been creating jewelry and accessories for about four years. She’s inspired by anything old and interesting, especially antique buttons, findings, and ribbons. Her holiday collection incorporates sparkling touches like rhinestone buttons. With prices ranging from $3 to $60, there are gifts for everyone – and gift wrapping is included.

Earrings by Angela Lensch.

Lensch, of Angela Lensch Jewelry, will share her work with the public on Dec. 14 & 15, with an open house on the 14th. Familiar to local art lovers from her five years as resident jewelry artist at Plum Bottom Pottery, Lensch weaves precious metals together with gemstones and pearls. Each of her pieces is a one-of-kind handmade original. Lensch is dedicated to supporting causes she believes in through her jewelry making, including teaching women’s cooperatives in India how to create wrapped beads from vintage sari textiles and paper. Her local workshops have included creating beads from heirloom textiles, and she plans to open her own gallery this spring. For more information visit aljewelry.wordpress.com.

Greco Gallery is located between the two bookstores on Sturgeon Bay’s Historic Third Avenue. The gallery is open 10 am – 5 pm Monday to Thursday; 10 am to 5:30 pm Friday and Saturday; and Sundays by chance. For more information call 920.743.5000 or visit grecogallerycoop.com.
