Jim Larsen Boys & Girls Club Hosts Fundraisers

The Jim Larsen Boys & Girls Club of Door County will hold a number of fundraisers in the upcoming weeks. Whether your fancy falls to a classic Door County fish boil or classic piano music, the upcoming events will benefit the youth of the peninsula.

On Friday, Oct. 10, from 4:30 – 7:30 pm at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Hall, 1756 Michigan, Sturgeon Bay, a Fall Fish Boil will be held. The menu consists white fish, boiled potatoes, onions, carrots, coleslaw, and fresh cherry pie. All tickets are sold in advance – adults $12 and children $7. This year’s drawing is for two Green Bay Packers/Lions Tickets. Advance tickets are available at Associated Bank West Side Branch, Citizens Bank, Cupola House in Egg Harbor, and at the Boys & Girls Club Office located at 1756 Michigan in Sturgeon Bay. Sponsors of this event are Prince of Peace Lutheran Church and Door County Memorial Hospital.

Then on Sunday, Oct. 19, an “Evening of Piano Artistry By Dan Troxell” will also be held at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church at 3 pm. This benefit concert is sponsored by Cupola House Gallery and Friends.

Born in western Pennsylvania, Dan Troxell found his passion for the piano at the tender age of four. It was quickly apparent to his parents and teachers that Troxell was a blooming prodigy, so serious private study, conservatory and college music classes, and finally work with an artist-in-residence at the University of Southern California polished and perfected his classical music performance. Troxell’s highly developed performance talent combined with his artistic sense of sentiment and emotion will be rewarded by this Free Will Offering Concert.
