Job fair Sept. 21

• The Door County Job Center is holding a Job Fair Wednesday, Sept. 21, from 2 – 6 pm in the Cherry Point Mall in Sturgeon Bay. For more information, contact Kim Carley at 920.743.6915 or [email protected].

• The Door County Social Services Board will hold a public hearing to gather input about an application for federal assistance for the Door County Transportation System. The hearing will be held at the Senior Resource Center, 832 N. 14th Avenue, Sturgeon Bay at 1:30 pm Sept. 20.

• The League of Women Voters will sponsor a study session series this fall to look into the role of the federal government in education. The first session will be held Sept. 24 at 9 am at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College in Sturgeon Bay. Dr. Judy Sargent, school improvement services director for CESA 7, will address “Common Core Standards, Assessments and Curriculum.” The study will continue with sessions Oct. 20 and Nov. 10. Those meetings will be held at 4 pm at the Sturgeon Bay Library.

• The Town of Liberty Grove will hold a computer and household appliance recycling day on Oct. 22 from 9 am – 1 pm at the Liberty Grove Town Hall, 11161 Old Stage Rd, Sister Bay. Residents from Liberty Grove and the Village of Sister Bay may recycle old household appliances and computer components. Refrigerators, air conditioners, dehumidifiers, microwaves, computer screens and televisions can be dropped off for a $10 disposal fee. Large screen televisions are $15.
