Joe Jo’s 2.0 Reopens Under New Owners

Asche Rider and Dave Reera, the new owners of the former Joe Jo’s Pizza and Gelato, opened their doors for the first time this past weekend. They’ve put together a small, but delicious menu as they get their operation up and running at full speed.

The restaurant – currently being referred to as Joe Jo’s 2.0 until they finish rebranding to Fresh Take 42 for the next season – features quick meals made with fresh, housemade ingredients, and its menu items also include locally sourced produce such as kale from Emerald Acres Farm and potatoes. Reera plans to continue using locally sourced ingredients when possible. Although the focus won’t be on pizza, former owners Richard and Kathy Luther have passed along their thin-crust recipe, so patrons will still find it on the menu.

The menu includes items that feature locally grown ingredients. The Uptown Kale Salad includes kale from Emerald Acres Farm in Sturgeon Bay, homemade Caesar dressing, garlic croutons, farm tomatoes and Romano cheese. Photo by Grace Johnson.

Online ordering will be available soon, but until then, call ahead or stop by to place an order – the restaurant is takeout only. Rider and Reera plan to expand their offerings to include ice cream, novelty desserts, a rotating selection of seasonal items and more.

Joe Jo’s 2.0 is open Friday – Tuesday, 12-3 pm and 5-8 pm. Things are subject to change while they settle in, so call 920.854.3232 for the most up-to-date information.
