John Soukup Cancer Benefit Scheduled for Jan. 19

All funds collected from the benefit will be presented to the Soukups to help with medical and living expenses.

The friends and family of John Soukup will hold a cancer benefit in his honor on Jan. 19, 3 pm, at the Draft Haus in Sturgeon Bay. John, his wife Polly and 16-year-old daughter Bailey are lifelong Sturgeon Bay residents. John is a 13-plus year veteran of the Sturgeon Bay Fire Department and well known as an accomplished stock car racer.

John was diagnosed last year with terminal renal cell carcinoma, the most common, and incurable, form of kidney cancer in adults. He is undergoing treatment and is not able to return to work. All funds collected from the benefit will be presented to the Soukups to help with medical and living expenses.

The benefit will include live and silent auctions, gun raffle, and live music by Centerline and the Unknown DJ.

Prizes will include an autographed/framed Clay Mathews Jersey and a Green Bay Gamblers package for 40 people.
