Jonny Lang Opens Peg Egan PAC Series

The Peg Egan Performing Arts Center is thrilled to announce a crowd-pleasing lineup of nationally acclaimed artist for its 2014 Summer Concert Series.

Terry Lundahl, program director at the Egan Center said, “Each year our audience size get’s bigger and bigger expanding to 2,500 audience members. Our goal is to provide Door County residents, visitors and music enthusiasts with a variety of outstanding music from around the nation.”

The 2014 concert dates are as follows:

Sunday, June 22: Jonny Lang, American blues/rock singer, songwriter, guitarist and recording artist. He has five albums that charted on the top 50 of the Billboard 200 chart and has won a Grammy Award for Turn Around.

Sunday, June 29: The Nylons, an a cappella group founded in 1978. With seven gold recordings and more than 3 million in album sales, this four member vocal group is a true international success story.

Sunday, July 6: Jimmy LaFave Band. A disciple of Woody Guthrie, Oklahoman LaFave refers to what he does as Red Dirt music.

Sunday, July 13: Peg Egan PAC Folk Festival – In The Round. The best of folk, jazz, blues and alternative with Peter Mulvey, Bill Camplin, Randy Sabien and Prudence Johnson.

Sunday, July 20: Switchback. Modern Celtic, with songs capturing the Irish of today as accurately as the Pogues and singer-songwriter Christy Moore.

Sunday, July 27: Parador presents Flamenco Night. Encore! The Flamenco music and dance of Kimball & Fernandez return for a third straight year. To heighten the ambiance, a limited number of pre-show tapas dinner packages with stage-side seating can be reserved by calling Parador restaurant at 920.868.2255.

Sunday, Aug. 3: Dailey & Vincent. They received a Grammy Award nomination for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and won the 2011 Dove Award for Best Bluegrass album with Singing From The Heart.

Sunday, Aug. 10: Birch Creek Jazz Orchestra Plays Under the Stars. Featuring the music of Billie Holiday, Count Basie, Duke Ellington and other big band favorites.

Taj Weekes and Adowa

Sunday, Aug. 17: Taj Weekes and Adowa unite a true social consciousness with an unforgettable reggae groove. Blending in elements of acoustic roots rock and afro-folk simplicity, the band’s vibrant sound defies genre and has garnered critical acclaim and a wide audience across the globe.
