Judge to Discuss New Book at Björklunden

How do judges really make their decisions? In his new book, Independence Corrupted: How America’s Judges Make Their Decisions, Judge Charles Schudson answers. He’ll discuss and sign his book during a free event July 29, 7:15-9 pm, at Björklunden, 7590 Boynton Lane, south of Baileys Harbor.

Judge Charles Schudson

With experience in both trial and appellate courts, Schudson knows the personal and professional pressures on America’s judges. He talks about compelling cases of abortion protesters, sex predators, white supremacists and others and opens the doors to judicial chambers to see decision-making in actual cases. A nominee for several honors, including the 2018 National Book Award and the 2019 Chautauqua Prize, Independence Corrupted is for students, scholars, lawyers, judges and anyone concerned about threats to judicial independence.
