July Events at the Door County Outpost

July is a busy month at the Door County Outpost, with several music-oriented events happening all in the same week.

On Saturday July 18, Adam Mackintosh and Anna Sacks will again be hosting the popular Songwriter Showcase at the Outpost – this time, in the great out-of-doors. Beginning at 5 pm, the stage will be set for a number of local and traveling musicians to take the mic and entertain the audience with a range of acoustic folk, blues, and pop music.

The Songwriter Showcase series has served as a launch pad for a number of talented musicians and fits well with the Outpost’s Fair Trade for Talent Project, which sees the final round of its competition on Tuesday, July 21 at 7 pm. With celebrity judges calling the shots on each performance and the audience being able to score each act, each week provides an evening of memorable live entertainment.

On Thursday July 23 the Outpost hosts a concert in the “Art of Music” Summer Concert Series, with national touring artists Vicki and Joe Price. This concert is set for 7:30 pm.

The Prices catapult energetic country blues, with Joe having performed his ruff and tumble blues for over 35 years. He’s a one-man blues tornado who can pack, command, and wring-out a dance floor with the authority of an eight-piece band. Vicki’s distinctive, swinging blues style are unmistakable, and the creative impact of these two artists together is a show that is not to be missed. Tickets for the show are $10 at the door.

Avant-garde folk band The Hollands round out an exciting week of music at the Outpost when they play on Friday, July 24. This energetic band from Green Bay will be preceded by Sheboygan band Cedarwell at 8 pm.
